Willie Nilly Friday 5 and a Little Gulf View

I want to go somewhere warm! Although this morning it is a balmy 12°! Would love to be enjoying a view of the ocean like below. Another photo courtesy of Sonny Boy.

Life is so quiet right now it's difficult to think of 5 things, but I'll give it a try.

1. On the plus side, we haven't had a lot of snow this winter, but Sunday we are expecting ice. Ice scares me more than snow. It's easier to fall down and break something or have a wreck if you dare get out on the road. Is it May yet?

2. As of December 1st, we have a new elected boss. Trying to adjust. 'nough said!

3. Oh yeah! My brother, who is 66 has been summoned for jury duty for the first time in his life. I've never been on jury duty, have you? He isn't happy. I normally am the Clerk of Court during jury trials, but now that we have a new clerk, she will take over. Whew!

4. I thought about doing the 52 weeks of cooking thing to get back into the cooking groove. Hubs does most of the cooking, which I like, but miss getting in the kitchen sometimes. Since I missed the first week and don't really have time to start a new project, I've decided not to bother. I'll just try a new recipe once a month or so and NOT blog about it!

5. I don't make new years resolutions. I never keep them. Do you? However, I did have a chat with myself about unfinished projects and will try to work on those this winter when I don't want to get out.

What a lovely view! I would like to stay there.. I do not like snow or ice, yuck! I've been called for Jury Duty but was not picked..Since, I am retired now I am trying to exercise more. But, it is not really a resolution.. Have a happy Friday!

What would I give to be there right now ... I don't make resolutions either and I'm also terrified of ice having slipped and broken my arm on some a few years ago. I'm also not keen on the wind (and it's windy here now) as many years ago a slate blew off a roof and hit me in the thigh resulting in extensive bruising - thank god it didn't hit my head! Really the only weather I DO like is warm and sunny so I guess I'm living in the wrong country :-)

#1 Give me snow over ice any day.
#2 How exciting, I'm glad that I'm my boss.
#3 I just finish one year of Federal Grand Jury duty.
#4 I like to get into the kitchen to eat.
$5 I have the same resolution each year, "smile and have a beautiful year." For the most part I'm successful.

I've been called to jury duty several times. When my kids were little I couldn't go since I was their full-time caretaker. Last year I was called in, but releases before the trial started! That is a lovely view of the warm water!!!
The cooking thing sounds interesting and challenging. Ha, don't you love when you have to have a 'chat' with yourself about getting things done??
Have a great weekend!

I do not think ice is a very good idea.

I have never served on a jury . . i always ask people if they were served donuts (i wish someone would decide HOW we'd like to spell that word) - ANYWAY - I always thought it would seem nicer if a small courtesy like that was offered . . but, what do i know???

yes, I was once, it was quite the experience! Actually got on a real case that they nearly had us spend the night, but finally we all came to the same verdict! I got a summons to attend this January but with the daycare/driving/picking up others kids to school, I got a postponement until late June! Yay for asking the court and getting your wishes! I'd love to be visiting somewhere warm too, but can't be done around the states it seems everyone is experiencing cold!

Gorgeous views. Don't do resolutions, just have goals. Don't like snow.

stay safe in the weather! we've been plenty cold for texas, but at least we've not had precip with it (yet) this time.

I don't know how I have missed it but I have never had jury duty. I think if I ever did it would be worse being a juror than getting out on ice!! No kidding.

Had to laugh about the cooking thing...be happy your hubs likes to cook and just try that new recipe a month! :-) I have always wished I'd be called for jury duty! But, I have been in more than one courtroom as a result of having owned a PI company years ago, and well, I love a good mystery. :-) Hope you don't have much snow & ice! Have a great week!

Sonny Boy knows how to rub salt in a wound! (Just kidding!) That looks like a wonderful place to get away from the cold.

I agree about the ice. Not only falling and/or having a wreck, (I've experienced both), we also had to replace our roof a few years back due to a leak caused by an ice jam. $$$

How nice that your hubby likes to cook! If I left that up to my guy, we'd be eating fast food 7 days a week. :(

Hope you have a warm and safe weekend!

Jury duty - have never been called in our current state but when we lived in Arizona we were called quite frequently. There's a law there that says you're not supposed to have to serve any more frequently than every 2 years, but we always got called in the interim. Never ended up being chosen, however.

Ice scares me in a big way! Don't want it on the roads or the power lines or the trees.. I don't want it at all!
I have never done jury duty.. thankfully.
I don't do resolutions. Never have. I do pick a word, this year it's "here".. I am going to work on being here, present each moment without worrying about every little thing.
That view takes my breath away!

I agree. Ice is the worst! Give me snow any time. Wow, a husband who cooks, I am impressed.

I could go for a view like that right about now too. - Like you we've had little snow which is nice but lots of cold temps, not so nice. - Even April sounds warmer.
I have served a couple of times on Jury Duty, didn't like it. Managed to get out of this last time which I was grateful for.
Ice is horrible to drive or walk in.
I like trying new recipes, you should share the ones you try anyway even if you don't do the 52 week thing.

I'd love that view right now!

Ice is frightening to me as I suffered a bad ankle break when I fell on ice many years ago. Be careful if you have to go out in it!

I've done jury duty twice and have am on their list for this year. Don't know why I get chosen so often as I know many in our little town that has never been chosen.

Have a nice weekend!

Yeah, I had that self chat too, and told myself to think of sugar, any form of sugar, as poison! I hope I was listening. And I was on jury duty once, some years back, but stricken from the jury by one of the lawyers because I thought it was wrong to be drunk (not drink, but to be drunk) and drive. How odd, huh! You'd think that everyone would thing that. Oh well,...
